Schoemann proposes moving state agencies out of Madison during Wausau visit

WAUSAU, Wis. – Gubernatorial candidate Josh Schoemann visited Wausau to discuss moving some state departments out of Madison and closer to other regions in Wisconsin.

Schoemann suggested relocating branches like Fish and Wildlife or Environmental Protection to areas such as Marathon County.

“I think people are just really frustrated, whether it’s Madison or Washington—the government-centric places that seemed detached from the rest of Wisconsin or America,” said Schoemann. “I also think there is a heck of a lot of common sense in places like Marathon County, and Wausau in particular, and I think having state departments closer to that is a positive thing.”
