Today, State Representative and former County Board Chair Rick Gundrum announced his endorsement of Josh Schoemann for Washington County Executive. Rep. Gundrum issued the following statement regarding his endorsement:

“I had the pleasure of working side-by-side with Josh after he was brought on as Washington County’s Administrator six years ago. In six short years, Josh has partnered with the county board, the state legislature, and other local governments to champion reforms that prioritized spending, improved the quality of programs and services, reduced the footprint of government, and stretched taxpayer dollars further. 

The combination of Josh’s conservative values, creative thinking, and solution-focused mindset has put the county on the path to long-term financial stability.

Washington County is benefiting from the innovative reforms Josh has put into place through his bold leadership and courage to challenge the status quo in the interest of the taxpayer. There is no doubt in my mind that Josh would double down on these efforts as County Executive.”
